| The
previous GDST tournaments have attracted children from 15
of the Trust schools.
This
year we hope to see ALL of the Trust
schools represented.
This
prestigious tournament is suitable for all ages and abilities,
from beginners to experts and is open to all GDST pupils.
Every competitor will win a prize.
There
will be 5 sections: Under 18, 14, 12, 10, 8,
Plus a separate event for siblings.
Trophy
winners retain their awards for one year and also receive
a prize to keep. Medals will be presented to the runners-up.
The intermediate age groups: Under 11, 9, 7 will also receive
prizes.
A
best school performance trophy will also be awarded (details
to be announced on the day).
Girls
who score 50% or more, including any byes, will qualify for
the All England National Gold Finals, which will be held on the 30th June 2007.

The
prize-giving will be at approx 4.30pm.
All
moves will be made in 40 minutes, after which, the remaining
games will be adjudicated by an International Grandmaster.
Clocks may be used if requested by the players or deemed
necessary by the controllers. Professional chess coaching
will be provided throughout the day.

There
are trophies for the age groups: Under 18, 14, 12, 10, 8.
And
intermediate age-group trophies for the: Under 11, 9, 7. Please
note that should a player who is eligible for an intermediate
age group prize (U11, U9, U7) win their section, they will
be presented with both trophies.
The
trophy winners will retain their prizes for one year. They
will also receive a smaller trophy to keep. Silver and bronze
medals will be presented to the runners-up. |

& information |
| Parents,
friends, teachers and trainers and welcome to stay, but only
control staff and players will be allowed in the Playing Hall.
A
high standard of behaviour is expected and girls and parents
must not go into areas of the school not specifically set
aside for the chess. The ECF accepts no responsibility for
any damage, theft or accident to the person or property of
anyone attending this event. They are unable to act in loco
parentis for children. Parents/guardians are responsible for
their children throughout the entire duration of this event.
The
ECF may wish to use photographs taken at this event (i.e.
in ChessMoves or on chessuk.com). It is important that you
fully complete the entry form and delete as appropriate.
