2007 Girls' Day School Trust Competitors
The 3rd Girls' Day School Trust and English Chess Federation Chess Championships took place on the 20th January 2007 at Oxford High School.
I was thrilled to receive entries from 15 of the Trust schools, with players travelling from as far afield as The Belvedere School, Liverpool. It was also a pleasure to welcome alongside the GDST girls, boys from various GDST schools.
The event was a huge success and my thanks go to Heather Lang, who teaches chess at Oxford High School and the headmistress for allowing us to use the school.
Thank you to Harriet Hunt and Caro Hunt for their invaluable help on the day and all of the parents who lent a hand, especially Mr. Kamil, Mrs. Sinha, Mrs. Adeoye and Mrs. Sethurajan.

Grandmaster Summerscale also generously donated his time for free to support this event with coaching throughout the day, which proved extremely popular with the adults as well as the juniors.

It was again a pleasure to be able to run a national chess competition with no problems on the day. Thanks to the girls and boys who attended for being so polite and helpful.
