Coaching and Tournament Day
More than a competition, more than a training day,
This will be a chess extravaganza!
The Director of Women’s Chess Claire Summerscale
is inviting juniors of all ages and abilities to come and compete.
Everyone wins a prize!
This event will be suitable for beginners and experienced players.

This special event will be held on Sunday 6th March 2005
at Alexander Hosea School, Honeybourne Way, Wickwar,
Nr Chipping Sodbury, Glos.

The entire day will be a completely rounded chess experience:

Competitions Chess Quizzes Grandmaster Coaching
Coaching prizes Devilish opening traps How to win more games
Individual age prizes Tactical combinations Analyse opening plans and ideas
Best behaviour prizes Choose your move Understanding positional strategy
Many other prizes Checkmating motifs Improve your endgame technique

Coaching will be provided by:

Women’s International Master Ruth Sheldon & at least one other professional chess coach.

Registration will be from 10.00 – 10.20am and play will start at 10.30am.
The prize giving will be at 4.30pm.

The cost will be £10 per player.

We advise that you bring a packed lunch. There will also be a tuck shop selling snacks, sweets and drinks. You are advised that there is no formal supervision between rounds, so it is suggested that you either stay to look after your own daughter or arrange for another adult to be responsible for her. Parental support is always appreciated.
