(6th December) I would like to announce an important new national coaching initiative. These new events will be combined with tournaments and will be held for all ages and abilities across the country.

The first event will be held in Ormskirk on the 30th January. Entry forms will be available shortly.

   
 
(6th December) The West Yorkshire Girls' tournament took place on Sunday in Leeds. All games were of a very high standard and in addition, a reporter for radio 4 interviewed several of the girls about women and girls' chess.

(6th December) The All England girls southern regional tournament was held on Saturday at Croydon High School and was a fabulous success. Many thanks to Croydon High for a fantastic venue and congratulations to all the 71 girls who took part. The trophy winners are below and a full list of results can be found on the knight icon.

(30th July) The Faber Cup started in 1969 and is held every year between various available European teams. The English team triumphed this year alongside their male counterparts playing in the Glorney Cup.
