Tournament Rules
Teams will consist of 4 players.
Team board order must be submitted before the start of the tournament.
Quickplay laws of chess apply.
Clocks will be used on the majority of boards, with 25 minutes per
person per game. Where clocks are not used, games will be adjudicated
by a top international player. Clocks will be started at the appointed
round start time.
Mobile phoned must be switched off in the playing hall.
The tournament controllers' decision will be final. Only tournament
officials, one team manager per team and players will be permitted
in the tournament hall during play.
The tournament organiser reserves the right to ask any or all team
managers to leave the playing hall if deemed necessary.
Team managers should watch all games from a respectful and unobtrusive
distance and must not assist in any dispute involving their team,
unless aided by a tournament controller.
Tournament officials will not step in unless requested to do so
by a player. It is each player's responsibility to claim a win on
time or to claim that their opponent is not trying to win or cannot
win by normal means.
At the end of the game, both players should reset the board and
take the completed result's slip to the control desk.
No claim about a position can be made after the board has been reset,
unless an accurate record of the game, agreed by both players is
available.
Players should leave the tournament hall after completion of their
game and should not re-enter until the start of the next round.
If you are not certain of an answer to a question, you should consult
a tournament controller.
